More, Sir Thomas Sir Thomas MoreMore, Sir Thomas (1478–1535) an English politician and writer. His most famous work is Utopia, which describes his idea of a perfect society. He was a powerful adviser to King Henry VIII, but he opposed the king's divorce (=the official ending of a marriage) and refused to accept him as the head of the Church of England.
