- 尧、舜、周、孔之道只是傍人情、依物理,拈出个天然自有之中行将去,不惊人,不苦人,所以难及。后来人胜他不得,却寻出甚高难行之事,玄冥隐僻之言,怪异新奇偏曲幻妄以求胜,不知圣人妙处只是个庸常。看《六经》、《四书》语言何等平易,不害其为圣人之笔,亦未尝有不明不备之道。嗟夫!贤智者过之,佛、老、杨、墨、庄、列、申、韩是已。彼其意见,才是圣人中万分之一,而漫衍闳肆以至偏重而贼道,后学无识,遂至弃菽粟而餐玉屑
- 尧、舜、周、孔之道如九达之衢,无所不通。如代明之日月,无所不照。其余有所明必有所昏,夷、尹、柳下惠昏于清任和,佛氏昏于寂,老氏昏于啬,杨氏昏于义,墨氏昏于仁,管商昏于法。其心有所向也,譬之鹘鸼知南;其心有所厌也,譬之盍旦恶夜。岂不纯然成一家人物?竟是偏气。
