Scott, Sir Walter Sir Walter ScottScott, Sir Wal·ter /ˈwɔːltə $ ˈwɒːltər/ (1771–1832) a Scottish writer and poet who was one of the most popular British writers of the 19th century. He is best known for his many historical novels based on Scottish history, such as Rob Roy, and on old English stories, such as Ivanhoe.
